Lock at Cothen
This lock was built in around 1870, when the Kromme Rijn was incorporated into the New Dutch Waterline. Locks made it possible to flood the area rapidly whenever there was a threat of war. The dam next to the lock regulates the water level between Cothen and Werkhoven. The level difference is 1.10 metres.
