Museums and galleries
The Kromme Rijn region offers museums housing a wide range of collections and exhibitions, from modern art to historical finds. There are also museums focusing on the origin of the regional products that the Kromme Rijn region has to offer: from cheese and cherries to tobacco.
For centuries, Wijk bij Duurstede has been the place where art, culture and hospitality come together. This started as long ago as the time of David of Burgundy. Artists were given freedom to paint at his court. On the first Sunday of the month, there's a cultural walking route through the town centre past galleries, artists and monuments such as Duurstede Castle, the Rijn and Lek Mill and the Grote Kerk. Timeless beauty in the town on the Lek!
